The NextOfKin App can place automated, prerecorded check-in calls. Calls are never turned on by default, and consent to them is separate from consent to text messages — agreeing to one does not agree to the other.
A person turns calls on inside the app, from their check-in settings. They enter the number to call and must actively check a consent box. The box is never pre-checked, and the step can be skipped.
Consent is also checked again at the moment of dialling: the app will not place a call unless a consent record and the exact text that was agreed to are both stored against the account.
This is the screen a person sees when they turn calls on. Nothing is pre-selected.
Only you get this call — the people in your circle are never called. It’s the last way we try to reach you — before we ask anyone else.
Number to callSee our Terms and Privacy Policy.
The sentence a person agrees to, word for word:
Calls happen when someone has stopped responding to their check-ins. They are automated and prerecorded.
How often depends on the check-in schedule, and never exceeds three calls in a cycle, at least three hours apart.
Calls are placed between 8am and 9pm. If the app cannot determine a usable local time for a number, it does not call.
Consent is not required to use the app. Standard carrier charges may apply.
Your number, the consent record, and the exact text you agreed to are used only to place the calls you asked for, to honor a stop request, and to keep the records applicable regulations require. They are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Calls are delivered by Twilio Inc. Our Privacy Policy describes everything we collect and how it is handled.
